Patrik Fältström is head of R&D at Netnod and also chair of the Security and Stability Advisory Committee of ICANN. He has been working on Internet related issues since 1986. He had been working at Cisco for 12 years before joining Netnod in 2012. He was working with launching the Internet in Sweden and was instrumental in the creation of multiple standards including Internationalized Domain Names and E.164 numbers and DNS (ENUM). He has been a member of advisory groups to many private and public entities, including being an advisor to the Swedish IT Minister since 2003. After the WSIS process, in 2006, he was involved in the creation of the Internet Governance Forum where he served as a member of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group for three years and then advisor to the chair for two years. He was in the leadership of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for five years, a member of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) for three and a member of ISOC Board from 2006 to 2009.
