Andrew Leslie is a former army commander (2006/2010) and chief of transformation (2010/2011). On retirement, after 35 years of service, he led the Public Safety and Intelligence unit of the CGI Group, one of the world’s leading global information technology firms. His career as a soldier included a variety of command and staff positions both at home and in several overseas postings with NATO and the UN. He has led at regimental, brigade, division/area and army levels, both at home and abroad in peacekeeping (Cyprus, Germany, Croatia) and war (Afghanistan). Several years ago he was in command of the electronic warfare, cyber and communications elements of the Canadian Forces. He has received numerous Canadian awards, and other governments have also recognized his contributions with the Commander’s Cross Order of Merit from Poland and from the US, the Commander of the US Legion of Merit.
