Malte Spitz has been a member of the board of the German Green Party since 2013. From 2006 to 2013 he was member of the executive committee of the German Greens. He publishes in different German and international newspapers. In 2009, he sued Deutsche Telekom to get access to the meta data of his mobile phone account. In 2011, he published this data together with Zeit Online in an interactive map. He is engaged in different civil society actions in Germany and Europe. Currently he is working on a book on daily life surveillance.
